About The Event

This trip will give you the opportunity to see some of the most scenic parts of the Appalachian trail and give you a little taste of what an AT section experiences and what life is like on the trail. We will be visiting some of the most photographed areas of the AT on this trip and staying at a combination of hostels, shelters and tent camping during this trip. 

An exact itinerary will be posted after the dates/month have been set.

Listed below is an example itinerary (may be altetered due to weather, etc):

August 26-Leave for the AT, arrive in Damascus, VA.

August 27-Shuttle up to Grayson Highland State Park, overnight camp along the AT.

August 28-Hike back to vehicle, leave for McAfee Knob. Hike into McAfee Knob (camp at shelter).

August 29-Hike to McAfee Knob camp at shelter or on trail.

August 30-Return from McAfee Knob, hike back to vehicle and head to Dragon's Tooth. (Day hike). Stay are area hostel.

August 31-Depart back to the Midwest.

Event ticket prices will be $450 per person, $650 with gear rental, $725 with hammock option. Price includes parking fees, transportation/tolls from designated pick up point, all state/trail permit/parking or trail fees, hostile/hotel lodging on August 26 & August 30 as well as official Appalachian trail Virginia backpacking maps 3 & 4. 

A minimum of 4 people need to be registered for this event prior to Aug 1, 2019 for this event to run. Max capacity for this trip is 8 people. 

Due to the terrain and difficulty of this trip, we ask that you have prior backpacking experience and able to handle yourself in rugged terrain at elevations of us to 5500'+.

Refunds and Cancellations:

No refunds will be issued for cancellations less than 7 days from the date of the event. All other cancellations are subject to a 50% service fee. Refund will be issued in the form of a check. Please allow 5-7 business days for processing, we will notify you when the refund has been issued. Additional information will be emailed to you after registering.
