About The Event
About the Event
This event is designed for people with moderate to advanced backpacking experience. You should be able to hike consecutive days for up to 12 miles, over uneven and rocky terrain. Backpackers should be mostly self sufficient in living on trail, and versed in LNT principles. If you are not sure if this event is a good fit for you, contact us and we can discuss it with you.
During this hike you and a guide will hike a designated section of the Appalachian Trail approximately 8-12 miles a day, for up to 3 days. Although guides will be available to assist you if necessary, backpackers should anticipate the need to hike alone or unsupported for numerous hours during the course of the day.
If you have never backpacked before this event is not designed for you. We suggest attending one of our Backpackers boot camps. Contact us if you have a question concerning your readiness or equipment. Participants should be able to carry a load of up to 30 lbs. for up to 8 hours over multiple days. Backpackers will be able to resupply each day if they wish, allowing them to carry a lighter load.
A pre-hike "shakedown" will be performed prior to starting our hike. Registration fee includes transportation from designated pickup point, water, and snacks during transport and lodginig at Woods Hole Hostel the first night and last night.

Leaving early the morning of September 24 we will depart from the MidwestCand arrive at Woods Hole Hostel where we will spend the night.
