Event Details

Are you interested in learning the basics of yoga practice? Have you been curious about how to start a meditation practice? Have you simply lost touch with these practices that brought you peace and clarity? If so this event is for you.  Over the course of the weekend, we will explore all of this and more while we settle into a rhythm with nature by sleeping under the stars and rising with the sun.  Dress for comfort and mobility as we will explore different styles of yoga and meditation. 

Feel free to bring a journal for reflection and comfortable hiking shoes if you wish to explore the trails.

Itinerary

Friday-Sept 17

Depart Chicagoland arrive at Forest Glen.

3:00 pm     Check-in, prepare campsites

4:30 pm     Opening circle and introduction, review the weekend itinerary.

5:00 pm     Foundational yoga practice, followed by dinner.

8:30 pm     Evening meditation.

Saturday-Sept 18

6:30 am     Sunrise meditation.

7:00 am     Light breakfast

8:00 am     Yoga

11:00 am    Lunch

1:00 pm     Walking meditation

3:00 pm     Introduction to Yamas and Niyamas

5:00 pm     Yoga followed by dinner

8:30 pm     Sound healing meditation

Sunday-Sept 19

6:30 am     Sunrise meditation

7:00 am     Light breakfast

8:00 am     Yoga

10:00 am   Closing circle

Transportation

Leaving on the afternoon of September 17, 2021, we will depart from the Chicagoland area. Carpooling options will be available along our route, and as always, there is no additional cost when meeting us at one of the predetermined Park and Rides. If you are unsure if you are along our route, please contact us before signing up. We will be returning to the Chicagoland area on the morning of September 19.

Ticket Options

The ticket price is $250.00 per person. This is an open camp space. You will be able to choose your tent site on a first come first serve basis.  Ticket prices include transportation from select areas in the midwest, all meals, (feel free to bring your own snacks and favorite beverages), group camping for two nights, daily yoga and meditation practices.

Rental Gear is also available and can be added to your registration for an additional $175.  More details on our rental packages are listed below.

Required Gear

Guests are responsible for obtaining their own gear, although we do offer gear rental if you are in need of gear. Rental Gear is also available and can be added to your registration for an additional $175.  More details on our rental packages are listed below.

-Tent (RV sites are also available at the main campground)

-Sleep system (sleeping pad, sleeping bag)

-2 Yoga blocks

-2 Blankets for yoga (or a thick towel)

-Appropriate footwear (trail runners or boots)

Safety

All True North staff are certified in First Aid/CPR and every one of our events is led by a guide who is a paramedic/Wilderness First Aid instructor. Guides are experienced in wilderness and outdoor travel.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations less than 7 days from the date of the event will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the end will receive a full refund, minus a 5% service fee. A refund will be issued in the form of a check. Please allow 5-7 business days for processing, we will notify you when the refund has been issued. Additional information will be emailed to you after registering.

True North Expeditions, Inc. reserves the right to substitute the events listed in the description above in the event of inclement weather, availability, or other uncontrollable events.
