About The Event

Have you always wanted to take a trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota? We get it! The BWCA spans over a million acres of glaciated bedrock, lush pine forests, and thousands of island-dotted pristine lakes just south of the Canadian border. Here, wilderness travelers find solitude, adventure, exceptional fishing, and a special connection with nature.

Let True North Expeditions take on the daunting task of planning a canoeing trip to the Boundary Waters for you. No experience is needed, and if this is your first time on a canoe trip, you’ve found the right place. Our friendly staff will walk you through every step of the way so that you can enjoy the rejuvenating spirit of the outdoors in the BWCA. Sign up with friends, or by yourself. Ticket Options

We have multiple ticket options for this trip.

Admission with Lodging (Double Occupancy)-$1083

This ticket option includes the following:

  • Round-trip transportation from a predetermined location in the Midwest
  • 2 nights of lodging based on double occupancy at the Ely Grand Lodge
  • All permits and camping fees
  • BWCA map
  • Lightweight canoes, paddles, and life vests
  • Access to a satellite phone if needed during the event

Admission with Lodging (Single Occupancy)-$1345

  • Round-trip transportation from a predetermined location in the Midwest
  • 2 nights of lodging based on single occupancy at the Ely Grand Lodge
  • All permits and camping fees
  • BWCA map
  • Lightweight canoes, paddles, and life vests
  • Access to a satellite phone if needed during the event

Admission without Lodging-$820

  • Round-trip transportation from a predetermined location in the Midwest
  • All permits and camping fees
  • BWCA map
  • Lightweight canoes, paddles, and life vests
  • Access to a satellite phone if needed during the event

Gear Rental-$525

Rental is available for an extra fee and includes the following:

  • Osprey Backpack
  • River Country Products 1 or 2-person tent
  • North Face, Eureka, or Kelty Sleeping bag
  • Thermarest sleeping pad
  • UL Pillow  (fleece pillowcase you can stuff your extra clothes into)
  • Jetboil Flash backpacking stove w/fuel
  • Sawyer water filter
  • Trowel
  • Headlamp
  • Trekking Poles
  • 2-ten liter dry bags

Participants are expected to provide their meals and equipment for this trip (a detailed list will be provided). Gear rental is available at an additional charge. If you’d like to fish, you may obtain a permit and equipment on location.

Safety

All True North Expeditions staff are certified in First Aid/CPR and every one of our events is led by a guide with a background in emergency medicine and a certified Wilderness First Aid instructor. Guides are experienced in wilderness and outdoor travel and are equipped with GPS and satellite phones during every portion of this event.

 

Cancellation Policy

No refunds will be issued for cancellations 30 days or less from the date of the event. All other cancellations are subject to a 50% service fee. A refund will be issued in the form of a check, or the original payment method. Please allow 5-7 business days for processing, we will notify you when the refund has been issued. Tickets can be transferred to another guest at any time with no service fee.

For the RSVP Option- If you need to cancel and can find someone to take your spot, you will get a refund on your deposit once we receive the other person's deposit.

True North Expeditions, Inc. reserves the right to substitute routes listed in the description above in the event of inclement weather, availability, or other uncontrollable events.
